Do You Think My Friend Is Being Abused?

Question by Kate: Do you think my friend is being abused?
My friend and I used to be close, about 10 years ago, when we were in our thirties. We were pertually single. She drifted from relationship to relationship, but nothing long term.

Then, in her late 30s, she met Clyde. He was already married, but seperated from his wife. He had already been married twice before, had been a serious drug addict, both his exes had accused him of abuse … he seemed like bad news. But my friend loved him. My friend is smart and from a good family. She saw something in him, and he took her on vacations and sent her flowers all the time, and seemed to treat her very well.

Can I Kick a Lortab Addiction Using Suboxone in Just 2 Weeks?

Question by kizzzy73: Can I kick a lortab addiction using Suboxone in just 2 weeks?
I am addicted to hydrocodone/oxycodone. This all began because I had back pain and a friend gave me a lortab. Over time the same amount of hydrocodone didn’t help so I would take more. I needed more and more and eventually my friend could no longer supply me. I had an MRI done and it came back clear so I could not get my own prescription. I now buy them illegally. I take lortab or percecet. I take no less than 10 pills per day and have taken up to 25 in a 24 hour period.
I managed to keep my addiction from my family until recently when I decided to tell my husband. This is not the life I want and I know I need help. He has been more supportive than I could have ever imagined and says he will help me do whatever it takes to get me off of this stuff. I feel like I have been living a double life. I’m so tired of needing to take a pill everyday to feel normal. I’m also sick of the life I’m living to get them. The daily hunt for pills, the money I have spent, and most of all… the embarrassment I feel for lying to my family and for letting it get this far. I contacted a rehab clinic yesterday and I am scheduled to begin suboxone next week. I do not want to substitute one addiction for another. I would like to take the suboxone for just 2 weeks, just long enough to get through the withdrawals. Am I thinking realistic or is that just not feasible? Is 2 weeks enough time am I then going to be addicted to this new drug? I would appreciate any advice.
This has been going on for about a year and a half.
